5 Licks to Play with Voodoo Child – Jimi Hendrix / Stevie Ray Vaughan

5 Licks to Play with Voodoo Child – Jimi Hendrix / Stevie Ray Vaughan

This lesson covers 5 awesome licks inspired by the Jimi Hendrix song Voodoo Chile. Of course, these licks will also work over the SRV version of the song. All licks use the E minor pentatonic scale, and are played in standard tuning I didn’t tune down a 1/2 step, so you don’t have to :).

Some licks here are inspired by Hendrix, and others by SRV. Each lick has quite a few ideas in them that can be extended to other licks. The best thing to do here is take the ideas you like from each of these, and make your own licks.

Get some of these ideas down, throw on Voodoo Child, and start jamming! Thanks for watching!
