3 Steps to Master ANY Guitar Lick
Learning difficult guitar licks can be easy, if you approach them the right way. In this lesson, a show a simple 3 step process to master any lick.
The first thing you do, is break the lick you are learning into smaller, manageable sections. As a simple rule, these licks should be no more than 6 – 8 notes.
The second step is to practice each of the small sections VERY SLOWLY. You will be amazed out how comfortable you can get with a lick if you just slow it down, and concentrate on all the small movements until you can play them flawlessly.
Step 3 is to slowly combine the small licks together. You still practice these slowly and with a metronome, and, if you are still making mistakes, you should go back to step 2 and work on the problem areas.
In this lesson I provide a sample lick to demonstrate this entire process. This is the strategy that I use myself to get my licks down, and I think it will work for you too. Try it out, and let me know how it goes!
